What is Winter futsal/indoor Soccer?

Indoor Futsal is a small-sided (6v6) Co-Ed indoor soccer league assembled to keep kids active, hone their skills in the offseason and share a fun, social environment with many other kids their age. Boys and Girls play together on randomized teams for 6 weeks. A weighted, heavier ball is used to eliminate some of the bouncing and allows for better control on the hardwood floors. Our indoor futsal league supports players from local communities outside of Bloomfield including but not limited to Glen Ridge, Nutley, Clifton and Montclair. There is no Indoor soccer/Winter Futsal for 7th-9th grade.

*There are no weekday practices of any kind during our Indoor season – All events held inside Bloomfield High School

what EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

All children must have proper footwear. Only sneakers and indoor futsal shoes are allowed. Shin guards are required. Please purchase age and size-appropriate equipment. Do not assume anything fits out of the box. Try it on first! No jewelry (earrings, bracelets, oversized hair clips) is allowed on the playing surface. BSC will provide each child with a new team jersey for the season.

When are the games?

Indoor soccer games are played Sundays from 8:30 am until 5 pm or later, depending on the weather or schedule changes. Games can run-up to an hour. In keeping with the Premier League spirit, there are no playoff or postseason games. Teams will accrue 3pts for a Win and 1pt for a tie during the 6 game season. The team with the most points will be crowned the overall winner. In the event of a tie for first place the following tiebreakers will be used in the following order: Head to Head record, Goal Differential, Goals For, Goals Against. Medals will be awarded to all participants regardless of final standing.

In the event of inclement weather, national or local emergencies BSC will cancel events as needed.

What are the age groups?

Boys and Girls play together in divisions comprised of 1st/2nd graders, 3rd/4th graders and 5th/6th graders. Our new Super-K division will be boys and girls ONLY in Kindergarten.

When does the season start?

Although the specific date changes year to year, we like to have all Futsal games begin by January 7th and end before February 18th.

What is BSC-RL Soccer?

BSC-RL (Bloomfield Soccer Club – Regional League) is a soccer program primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without emphasizing travel or high-level competition. Instead, recreational soccer aims to allow the participants to have fun, learn the sport, and develop life skills, including a lifelong love of the game. Our regional league supports players from local communities outside of Bloomfield including but not limited to Glen Ridge, Nutley, Clifton and Montclair.

Super-K is a brand new program under the BSC-RL designed to provide your Kindergartener a smoother transition into our RL program. Super-K is for 5 year olds no longer in Pre-K and graduated out of our Little Cleats program.

What EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

All children must have proper footwear in soccer cleats and/or turf shoes. Shin guards are required. Please purchase age and size-appropriate equipment. Do not assume anything fits out of the box. Try it on first! No jewelry (earrings, bracelets, oversized hair clips) is allowed on the field. BSC will provide each child with a new team jersey for the season.

What are the age groups?

Boys and Girls play separately in divisions comprised of 1st/2nd graders, 3rd/4th graders and 5th/6th graders. Our new Super-K division will be boys and girls ONLY in Kindergarten.

NEW Co-Ed Program!
As a service to our community, beginning in Spring 2024 all 7th-9th grade students will be able to play in a fun and friendly parent organized Co-Ed league completely free of charge. Teams will be made weekly based on attendance by the volunteers and kids will play for 90-minutes each week. Pinnies will be provided to split up teams to ensure fairness and equal opportunity. We look forward to sharing our club with more teens in our community than ever before! A minimum of 4 parent volunteers is required to allow for scheduling and registration.

When are the games?

BSC-RL soccer games are traditionally played Saturday from 8:30 am until 12 pm or later, depending on the weather or schedule changes. There are Friday night games scheduled randomly throughout the season. Games can run up to an hour.

We will do our best to make up games canceled due to weather, field conditions, or global, national, or local public health issues. However, game schedules are not usually published until just before the start of the season and are dependent on field availability and the number of teams in a division.

When are practices?

The Head Coach or coaching staff sets practice dates and times. Since our BSC-RL program is comprised mainly of volunteer parent coaches, we allow them to establish practice times and dates around their work or personal schedule. However, we request that the volunteers keep days and times consistent each week so everyone involved can plan accordingly and attend all practices on time. Practices are not to take place no earlier than 14 days prior to the 1st official scheduled game.

When does the season start?

BSC-RL Soccer has three seasons; Fall, Winter (Indoor) and Spring. Although the specific date changes year to year, we like to have all Fall games begin by September 15th and end before Thanksgiving. In Spring, we attempt to have games start mid-April and end mid-June. Weather permitting.

I registered and paid, now what?

Once you have completed our registration and sign-up process, we will assign you to a team and coach. Once the coach has access to the team rosters, they will reach out to parents about practice dates and times. This will usually occur one to two weeks before the season starts.

PLEASE READ: Registration fees are non-refundable. However, pro-rated refunds will be offered minus administration fees in the event of global, national, or local public health issues.
